What level are my kids? 

Visit our AQUATICS page to view a full list of Group classes to see which level your swimmer is at. Additional assistance can be found by calling 805-241-0894.

Swim Lessons: How do I register for class? 

You can register for a class online by clicking the REGISTER FOR CLASSES button at the top right corner of the website.

How to I check if a class is available? 
  • Visit https://secure.crpd.org/register/
  • Type the Group Name in the keyword section of the page (when searching for Private Instruction, use quotations).
  • Uncheck the box that says Show Full and Canceled Classes.
  • Click Search.
Swim Lessons: Does it cost money to be on a waitlist? 

No.

How/Can I request a teacher? 

Yes, you can request a teacher; however, we can not guarantee they will teach that specific class. We try to accommodate your request to the best of our ability. Talk to a pool manager and tell them the name or type of teacher you need 1-2 weeks prior to a session starting.

Can I get a refund?

What are your pool hours? 

Click the BOOK A LAP LANE button at the top of the page for information regarding reserving a lap lane and open recreational swim hours.

What’s the difference between lap swim & rec swim? 

Lap swim is available by reservation for individuals who are looking to reserve a lap lane to swim or walk. Non-reservation holders can “walk-in” and pay the posted entry fee in cash.

Recreational swim is open times for families to play in the shallowest section of our pool.

Can I come in and swim early? 

No, other classes and programs are being conducted or a lifeguard is not on duty.

Are you affiliated with the university? 

No, we are only on their campus. We are operated and maintained by the Conejo Recreation and Park District.

Can I swim in the “Big Pool” or the “Samuelson Aquatic Center (SAC)”? 

Yes, by reservation only.

Click the BOOK A LAP LANE button at the top of the page to book a lap lane at the Samuelson Aquatic Center.

The Samuelson Aquatic Center does not have recreational swim or use of the diving boards.

Are Cal Lutheran University Students and Faculty Free? 

No, reservations must be made to swim in the Community Pool at CLU or the Samuelson Aquatic Center during designated lap swim times.

Free lap swim hours are available to Faculty and Students during specific times in the day. Visit the University’s website to view those hours.

Is the pool handicap accessible? 

Yes, we are able to assist people who are handicapped with a lift device. Please let the staff know if you would like assistance with the lift.

Is the pool available for birthday parties? 

Call the Aquatics Office at 805-241-0894 for more information.

What temperature is the water? 

We keep the water between 80°- 84°

Is your pool chlorine or salt? 

It is chlorinated.

Where are you located? 

We are on California Lutheran University’s campus in the northwest corner of Mountclef Boulevard and Olsen Road.

Do I have to pay even if I’m not swimming? 

Anyone entering the facility must pay the posted entry fee. Individuals not willing to pay the entry fee can spectate from outside of the gate.

Do you take credit cards? 

Yes, we take MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover.

Is my child required to wear a swim diaper? 

If he/she is not potty trained, yes.

Swim diapers are available for purchase for $1 in the office should you forget to bring one.

Do you provide towels? 

No, please bring your own.

Do you have lockers? 

No.

How old must a child be to come and swim alone? 

8 years old.

Can I bring my own floatation devices/can kids wear floats? 

Allowed: Puddle Jumpers, Noodles, swimsuits with a float built in, ring tubes; items must stay with the child. Life vests must be Coast Guard-Approved.

Not Allowed: Water wings or water guns. Check with management if you are unsure about your floatation device.

Is there a snack bar? 

No, but there are vending machines with snacks and drinks available for purchase.

Can I bring in my own food/drinks? 

Yes, however, we do not allow glass or alcoholic beverages on deck.

Is there a lost and found? 

Yes, ask a lifeguard when you come to the pool to assist you in finding any lost belongings.

Does the pool close if it rains? 

The facility only closes for lightning or thunder.

The facility will remain open when it rains.

Can I swim while my child is taking lessons? 

Click the BOOK A LAP LANE button at the top of the page to reserve a lap lane during programming.

Can I stay and swim with my child after their lessons? 

Yes, if the facility is open for Recreational Swim right after your lesson or you get approval from a manager.

Anyone staying after their lesson for Recreational Swim will need to pay the posted entry fee.
