Dispose of your used household batteries safely. Battery recycle bin is located right outside of the Goebel Center main entrance.

Senior Concerns

Senior Advocates assist with questions about housing, transportation, legal issues, in-home care, facility placement, government benefits, senior programs, as well as help with completing forms and applications for a wide range of programs and services. For healthcare and insurance-related concerns, as well as anything outside of the scope of the advocate, she will refer clients to the appropriate program or agency for assistance. Grey Law, Legal Assistance

Grey Law is a non-profit organization offering free legal services/consultations to senior adults in Ventura County who otherwise have limited access to legal help. Assisting with issues such as public benefits, long-term care planning, preparation of wills & living trusts, powers of attorney, landlord-tenant disputes, and more.

HICAP - Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program

HICAP provides free and unbiased counseling to Medicare beneficiaries and their families. HICAP state certified counselors provide information on Medicare options, billing issues, and ways to prevent/report Medicare fraud and abuse. Dial-A-Ride

For more information or to schedule a ride, visit https://toaks.gov/dar or call 805-375-5467. The City of Thousand Oaks operates a local origin-to-destination Dial-A-Ride (DAR) program for those who are 65 years of age or older. DAR can be used to do errands, go shopping, to get to medical appointments, or to get to the Goebel Adult Center! DAR is $4.00 each way; exact change is required, or trip tickets are available for purchase at the Goebel Adult Center front desk.
